Sam Castro is the Friends of the Earth Spokesperson on the TPP and Trade and a current board member. Sam is the cofounder of Whistleblowers, Activists and Citizens Alliance (WACA) and has been campaigning to stop the TPP since 2011. Sam is part of the Economic Justice Collective at Friends of the Earth Melbourne which is one of the founding groups of the TPP Union and Community Roundtable. Sam comes from a media and communication background and previously worked in advertising before moving to the NGO sector to work on the Make Poverty History campaign for the peak International Aid and development body in Australia, ACFID. As well as her work with Friends of the Earth and WACA, Sam occasionally guest lectures at Victoria University and RMIT on climate change, militarism and global politics.
