October Forum Meet the Candidates: State Election

Candidates Forum
Sifting the Political Spin on Climate Policy
Tuesday 30th October
Sue Pennicuik representing the Greens, Labor’s endorsed candidate for Southern Metropolitan region, Nina Taylor and awaiting whether the liberal candidate is coming – to be advised.
With the Victorian elections timed for November 24, we need to hear from the major parties about their energy policies and their plans to protect our environment.  We will be asking the tough questions and publishing the major parties responses.  We have also arranged with key policy strategist, Cam Walker to moderate that discussion and help us clarify the facts.
Cam is long time campaigns co-ordinator at Friends of the Earth. He has lectured in environmental politics and change theory at RMIT University and is currently working on a range of climate policy issues including protecting the Victorian Renewable Energy Target and establishing Victoria’s first climate budget.
