Dr. Lea Jellinek:
‘Why we need to Save the Rubicon Forest’ 

You are invited to come with Lea on a journey into our precious forest on Dry Creek Hill, above Snobs Creek Waterfall. 

This area, just above the spectacular Snobs Creek Waterfall, has one of the most pristine and intact forests in Murrindindi Shire.  Local campaigners want to see them removed from logging schedules and declared an extension of the existing "Snobs Creek Wildlife Reserve”. 

Lea Jellinek, an academic and activist, has worked with international aid agencies such as the World Bank, UN, Ausaid, GTZ, and ADB. 

She has also been a teacher at Melbourne, Monash, RMIT and Gadjah Mada Universities. 

Her passion for Indonesia, the environment and waste management led to the publication of several books and numerous articles. 

These experiences have led her to explore her own backyard in the Snobs Creek Valley and the Rubicon/Royston Catchments. 

This talk is about what she has found in the forest and the urgent need to defend the unique wildlife and natural beauties we have.
